For charcoal grills, only use lighter fluid designed for grills.
Never use gasoline and do not add lighter fluid to an already lit fire.
Never bring charcoal grills indoors.
Burning charcoal produces deadly carbon monoxide.  Also, bringing a grill indoors creates the possibility of a fire breaking out in your home.
Do not leave a grill unattended.
It could be possible for the flame to get out of control and start a larger fire.
Do not leave children or pets in the car.
On a relatively mild day, the temperature inside a car can get above 100°F.  At these temperatures, kids and pets are at great risk for heat stroke which can lead to dehydration, seizures, stroke or death.
Wear your sunscreen.
Sunscreen should be applied before and after swimming.  It should also be reapplied after you have been working hard or you have been sweating.  Reapply sunscreen after two hours of being outdoors.  Wearing sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV Rays; decreasing your chance of sunburn which can lead to dehydration.
Use caution during yard work.
Keep small children indoors while mowing or edging.  Never carry a child on a riding mower.  Use caution when refilling gas tanks on equipment.  Go indoors during lightning and thunderstorms.
Wear helmets and other safety gear when biking, skating and skateboarding, and when riding scooters, all-terrain vehicles and horses.
Studies on helmets show they can reduce the risk of head injuries by up to 85%.
Always wear a life vest; children should always wear a life vest too.
If on a boat, waterskiing, wakeboarding or tubing everyone should wear an age appropriate vest, even proficient swimmers.
